A little bit about Irishtown Cottage Bendigo
This fully refurbished and extended cottage is the perfect 'get away' or corporate stay. Built in the 1870's, Irishtown Cottage as the name suggests, is located in the heart of what was known as Irishtown in Bendigo during the gold rush era.
Originally chosen for it's proximity to the life sustaining Bendigo creek and flatlands, the area is now one of the most picturesque of Bendigo city.
You will enjoy the local proximity to pubs, cafes, Lake Weeroona, the tennis complex, bike trails and of course the CBD. There is also plenty of history within the Irishtown area including the largest, oldest wooden church (St Killians) in the southern hemisphere, the tram museum including the oldest operating tram depot, the chinese precinct and much more.
Walking distance to the CBD
At only 400 metres from the CBD, it allows you to park the car in the off street parking and leave it there! In fact, there is even two cruising push bikes and helmets supplied with the property so you can take advantage of the 17+ kms of bike trail at your doorstep!
Irishtown Cottage has the feeling of true 'Irish hospitality' with many thoughtful additions. There is of course plenty of great tea selections including leaf tea and a pot to brew in, as well as great locally ground coffee for the plunger. Sugar and milk are included as are beautiful, locally made 'palm oil free' soaps.
The kitchen is fully equipped including salt and pepper grinders, local oil and seasonal herbs in the garden.
In addition to the four bedrooms and two living areas, there is also a table tennis table in the garage to keep the children (and adults) entertained and a great all weather BBQ area and large outdoor setting for the warmer months.
Curl up by the wood fire
Although heated and cooled with reverse cycle air-conditioners, there is also a lovely wood heater to curl up beside during the cooler weather. There is nothing quite like a wood fire and we will even set it for you!
Supporting our local producers
As strong supporters of our fabulous local producers, we can extend the hospitality to include arranging a 'tasting plate' and bottle of local wine or beers or cooked breakfast provisions including delicious local eggs and bacon to be at the cottage on your arrival.
You will be charged only for the produce and at reasonable prices. Please contact us for more details when you make your reservation.
